In Iceland, innovation comes naturally, shaped by a people hardwired to adapt and a society deeply rooted in the environment that powers it. K64 embodies this spirit as Iceland’s flagship masterplan for sustainable innovation. Located near Keflavík International Airport (KEF), the nation’s global gateway, it is designed to support high-value industry, circularity and transatlantic trade. With airport-adjacent access, port-linked logistics and the strength of one of the world’s most innovative countries behind it, K64 provides a platform for globally connected growth.
Efficient logistics, reliable labour supply and room to scale. K64 sits on the Reykjanes Peninsula, adjacent to Iceland’s primary international airport, minutes from a deep-sea port, and just 40 minutes from Reykjavík city center. That puts it within commuting distance of the majority of Iceland’s workforce, combining global connectivity with dependable access to talent.
K64’s development areas organize industrial growth across several distinct zones, each tailored to different operational needs. Together they support circular industry, advanced production and logistics-oriented activity, aligning land availability, infrastructure and energy access within a single long-term masterplan.
Designed for companies that require scale, energy security and seamless logistics, K64 Circular Industries is an eco-industrial area within Iceland’s Airport Region, located beside Helguvík deep-sea port and minutes from Keflavík International Airport. Bringing land, infrastructure and renewable energy access together in one integrated district, it supports long-term operational stability.
Flexible 5,000–20,000 m² plots, with options to accommodate different operational requirements ready today.
300 hectares in total, with around 180 buildable hectares.
Circular industries, recycling, waste-to-resource operations, sustainable manufacturing, clean energy and port-oriented activities.
Designed for companies that prioritise operational efficiency, workforce accessibility and ease of implementation, K64 Light Industries comprises established industrial areas a few minutes south of Keflavík International Airport. The area offers established utilities, strong transport links to Reykjavík, and proximity to nearby residential neighbourhoods. By combining ready infrastructure with flexible development options, it supports stable day-to-day operations and scalable growth.
Flexible 2,500-20,000 m² plots across light industrial areas.
264 hectares combined (or 115 ha, 109 ha and 40 ha sub-areas).
Light manufacturing, advanced production, food and bio-based processing, logistics support, technology-driven operations and data-related activities.
Designed for aviation-related operations that require direct integration with airport infrastructure, the Aviation Hub is located adjacent to Keflavík International Airport’s southern apron within Ásbrú Light Industries area. The site combines airside access and established utilities for aviation businesses that depend on operational efficiency and international mobility.
Configurable plots within the aviation zone (specific sizes subject to allocation).
30 hectares.
Fixed-base operators (FBOs), hangars, aviation services and aviation-related R&D.
Located at the primary entrance to Keflavík International Airport, the Gateway area forms part of the Airport Region’s gateway development area. It integrates airport-facing commercial functions with future cargo and service-related uses, supporting businesses that benefit from high visibility and immediate access to airport infrastructure.
Future-planned commercial and airport-support parcels aligned with KEF terminal forecourt development.

Success Stories
Algalíf, Iceland’s largest producer of microalgae and a global leader in natural astaxanthin, operates a 13,000 m² advanced biotechnology facility at Ásbrú within the K64 development area. Powered entirely by renewable energy, the company has tripled its production capacity in recent years, demonstrating how high-value, science-driven industry is scaling as part of the growing K64 ecosystem.
Verne has operated sustainable data center facilities at Ásbrú since 2008, providing secure, renewable-energy-powered infrastructure for international high-performance computing clients. With a growing footprint and deep roots in the Suðurnes community, the company demonstrates how globally connected digital infrastructure is scaling as part of the K64 ecosystem.
Aðaltorg is a locally rooted real estate development company operating within K64, focused on strengthening services for both the surrounding communities and travelers passing through KEF. By planning new commercial and community-oriented spaces in the Ásbrú area, the company contributes to the growing service ecosystem that supports businesses, residents and visitors within the wider K64 development.
K64 sits within the Reykjavík Capital Region, about 40 minutes from the city center and a short drive from the smaller municipalities of Reykjanesbær and Suðurnesjabær (population: 25,000). The surrounding Reykjanes Peninsula provides some of the most distinctive geologic and coastal landscapes to everyday life.
K64 is active and growing, with established companies already operating in the Light Industries area as well as the open Iceland Eco Business Park at K64 Circular Industries. Local planning at the Berglavík area is nearly complete (anticipated June 2026), enabling new plots for industrial development in the K64 Circular Industries district. With groundwork laid, additional residential units coming to the Ásbrú area, and energy capacity expanding, K64 is actively working on investment inquiries across industries.
